EDOBIO Behind the Scenes: How BiProGE®️ was Born

EDOBIO created BiProGE® Lactic Acid Bacteria with the goal of finding a way to naturally regulate the condition of all skin types without harmful chemicals. Regulating through the calculated utilization of selected microorganisms, it can be deemed similar to that of the earth’s very soil beneath our feet.

The journey to creating this formula, however, started in our very own workshop. The EDOBIO research staff had been suffering from very rough hands for a while, which made doing day-to-day work uncomfortable and painful. While an individual was researching lactic acid bacteria containing BiProGE®, they noticed that the condition of their hands improved. This discovery became our reason to make EDOBIO’s first product bar soap, which would turn out to be a natural soap that people with sensitive skin could use.

This unique ingredient we created – now used in a variety of our products – was derived from a unique strain of lactic acid bacteria found in Japanese soil, known for its beneficial properties for skin health including improving skin immunity, regulating skin turnover, and maintaining moisture and elasticity. As a company, EDOBIO’s concept is the combination of traditional Japanese beauty practices with advanced biotechnology, thus the birth of our naturally derived skincare products created to soothe all skin types. Full of natural resources, BiProGE® is full of a variety of microorganisms created to promote life and growth.

BiProGE® is used in various EDOBIO products, such as our moisturizing soufflé soaps. It helps address a variety of common skin issues by supporting the skin's natural barrier and promoting a balanced skin microbiome. These issues include dryness, dullness, acne, and eczema.

While continuing our research, we have been able to see that BiProGE lactic acid bacteria has not only led to improved immunity, but indications that it could also help normalize skin turnover.  As EDOBIO continues to discover other ingredients to use in our product, it is our goal to resolve even more skin issues.
